Understanding Forecast Types

Factor's forecasting suite is constantly evolving. This page will be updated regularly as new forecasting models are introduced.

Historical Load

The Historical Load forecast uses provided usage data to generate forecast volumes for a specified period. This method is ideal for analyzing past consumption trends.

Battery-Enabled Load Shifting (BELS)

This forecast type requires a battery configuration. Factor first forecasts consumption data using the "Historical Load" method, then adjusts the load based on the provided battery configuration. For more details, refer to the Battery Model article.

Price Uploaded Usage Data

In some cases, generating forecast volumes may not be necessary. For instance, you might already have forecast consumption volumes or need to rate historical consumption data provided by customers or metering companies. This forecast type allows you to calculate charges based on the input consumption data.

When using this forecast type, ensure the selected date range overlaps with the dates in your uploaded usage data. Factor will only calculate charges for usage that falls within both the uploaded data and the selected period.
